By downloading or using Arthur, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.
Description of Service
Arthur is a voice-to-text application that uses on-device speech recognition powered by OpenAI's open-source Whisper model. The app converts spoken audio into text locally on your device.
Use of the App
You may use Arthur for personal and commercial purposes. You agree to:
- Use the app in compliance with all applicable laws
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
- Not use the app to process content that is illegal or violates others' rights
Open Source Components
Arthur uses OpenAI's Whisper model, which is released under the MIT License. The use of Whisper is subject to its own license terms. Arthur's use of Whisper does not imply any endorsement by or affiliation with OpenAI.
Intellectual Property
The Arthur app, excluding open-source components, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The content you create using Arthur belongs to you.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Arthur is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The app will meet your specific requirements
- The app will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free
- Transcription results will be accurate in all cases
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app.
Accuracy of Transcription
While Whisper provides high-quality speech recognition, transcription accuracy may vary based on factors including audio quality, background noise, accents, and specialized vocabulary. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying transcription output before use.
App Store Terms
Your use of Arthur is also subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict between these terms and Apple's terms, Apple's terms shall prevail with respect to your use of the App Store.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
