On-Device Processing
Your audio stays on your device when transcribing. Unless you explicitly opt into cloud features like Record Phrases or Usage Diagnostics with Audio.
Information We Collect
Hey Arthur collects different types of information depending on how you use the app:
- Account Information: If you create an account, we collect your email address and profile information through our authentication provider (Clerk).
- Record Phrases: If you opt into Record Phrases, we collect audio recordings you submit to improve recognition accuracy.
- Crash Reports: We use Sentry to collect crash reports and performance data, which may include device information and app state at the time of a crash.
- Usage Diagnostics: You may opt in to Usage Diagnostics to send speech quality diagnostics to improve our system.
Third-Party Services
Hey Arthur uses the following third-party services:
- Clerk: Provides authentication and account management. See Clerk's Privacy Policy.
- Sentry: Provides crash reporting and performance monitoring. See Sentry's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare: Provides cloud storage for audio data. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete your data at any time through your Account settings. When you request deletion:
- Audio recordings are permanently deleted from our servers
- Your account and profile information can be fully removed
- Anonymized diagnostics that cannot identify you may be retained
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of voice training at any time
- Use the app without an account (core transcription works offline)
App Store
Hey Arthur is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple may collect certain information as described in their privacy policy. This is separate from Hey Arthur's data practices.

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
