The short version: Arthur processes your voice entirely on your device. Your audio never leaves your phone or computer. We don't collect, store, or transmit your voice data.
Our Privacy Commitment
Arthur is built with privacy as a core principle. We use OpenAI's open-source Whisper speech recognition model, which runs locally on your device. This means:
- Your voice recordings are processed on-device
- No audio data is sent to our servers
- No audio data is sent to any third party
- Your transcriptions stay on your device
What We Don't Collect
We do not collect:
- Voice recordings or audio data
- Transcription content
- Personal information
- Usage patterns or analytics
- Location data
On-Device Processing
Arthur uses the Whisper speech recognition model, developed by OpenAI and released as open-source software. The model runs entirely on your iOS or macOS device. When you speak into Arthur:
- Your audio is captured by your device's microphone
- The Whisper model processes the audio locally
- Text appears in the app
- The audio is discarded after processing
At no point does your voice data leave your device.
App Store
Arthur is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple may collect certain information as described in their privacy policy. This is separate from Arthur's data practices.
